The Shak Bakery began with a love for baking, community, and a little extra time on my hands. After retiring from a wonderful career as a kindergarten teacher, I found myself with more free time and a desire to stay busy doing something I truly enjoy. Baking has always been a passion of mine, and as a proud grandmother to a sweet toddler boy who loves his treats, my kitchen quickly became a place filled with flour, laughter, and delicious smells. Being new to the community, I wanted a way to connect with my neighbors and share something meaningful. That’s how The Shak Bakery was born. What started as baking for family and friends turned into an opportunity to share homemade sourdough breads, fresh bagels, gourmet cookies, and other delicious treats with the people around me. The Shak Bakery operates on the honor system because I believe in trust, kindness, and giving back to the community. My goal is simple: fill people’s bellies with yummy baked goods made with love, and create a small place where neighbors can connect over fresh bread and sweet treats. Every loaf, bagel, and cookie is baked with care, and I’m grateful to share my love of baking with this wonderful community.
